The best time to visit Marble lake is Autumn (Puja vacation for Bengalis), Winter and definitely the Monsoon. Chhau dance is an ancient ethos and festival of the Purulia district. Chhau dance or Chhou dance is basically a type of traditional folk dance of Eastern India. The stories are played in these dance are taken from the Hindu epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata, Purana etc. The masks are used in this dance performance are made in this Charida Village or Charida Mask village.
